soil and soul regeneration

It was from following the incredible work of Dr Zach Bush, and through documentaries like, Kiss the Ground and Common Ground, that I first heard of soil regeneration and carbon capture.

Nature’s ability, our own ability to regenerate is truly amazing. David Attenborough’s programme - A life on our planet, showed how nature returned and regenerated at Chernobyl. Now that is a come back.

What I have observed, and it is just my opinion, is that the two most destructive ‘consumables’ created on this planet are sugar and credit. Being a child of the 60’s I recall a time when we did not have access to either, at the levels we do today.

To me, they are the crack cocaine of our society, have we simply become insatiable consumer addicts? How many now use credit and debt like its income? We can all see the damage being done by over consumption of sugar.

Never before have so many had so much, yet so many have become so sick. The chasm between the few super wealthy & powerful and the poverty of the masses has never been greater.

Soul regeneration, is a term I use to refer to our urgent need to regenerate ourselves as individuals, as society and a species. Physically, mentally, emotionally, materially and spiritually.

How do we regenerate ourselves? Mother nature shows us time and again she will regenerate. Five major extinctions recorded and the coming sixth, often called the Anthropocene extinction, shows she will go on. Will it be with or without us?

Every seed of creative action you plant with loving intent, every action you take with loving intent, every relationship you nurture with loving intent, is a start to regeneration for future generations.

Sustainable success can only grow organically in the rich soil of love.

Live as love in action. The soil of this planet and the soul of humanity simply need to be nurtured and nourished with our tender care.

Are we capable of such change as a species? I honestly don’t know. What I do know is there is an ever growing number of us starting to take action, in small yet wondrous ways.

I live with hope for our future and that of planet earth.

with love and gratitude, Ali
